ODID Medical Missions in Dondon, Haiti
ODID is now organizing medical mission trips in Dondon Haiti for both medical and non-
medical students. We can accommodate classes of students on single medical mission trips.
Currently our health program offers care in mobile clinics in the community and conducts
regular clinics in a health center by well qualified professionals and mentors. In partnership with
other providers, we can offer rotations in 3 different environments including a dispensary, a
health center and mobile clinics. We can also incorporate a hospital rotation for your students.
In addition, we have the ability to combine a historic visit to any missions. The town of Dondon
is situated in the North of Haiti and occupies 60% of Haiti National Historic Park. It provides the
opportunity to visit the Citadelle fortress, Ramiers Forts and Sans-souci palace, a world heritage.
Dondon is also the city of caves, it counts more than a dozen including the famous, pre-
Columbian Voute a Minguet, sacred temple of Indian Tainos. It has beautiful mountains and a
green landscape. Our medical missions offers a perfect combination for both Medical and non-
medical providers.
Medical Providers
Our mission brings students interested in pursuing a medical career and international health
looking to open their horizon and supplement their educational experience abroad. Students will
have the opportunity to shadow providers and directly interact with patients for hands on
assessments, patient intake, clinic triage, provider-patient care, and direct patient education.
Non-medical providers
We offer an amazing opportunity for public health students, urban planners, researchers, film
makers, anthropologists, historians to travel to Haiti, mingle with the locals, and experience the
culture tailored to their interest.
Some common roles for non-medical volunteers:
• Clinic set up and breakdown
• Community health education – we provide you with a variety of topics or you can choose
your own topic to teach a class to the local communities that will help build and
strengthen the people through health and wellness.
• Patient registration and intake
• Trip historian – take pictures of patients and the clinic site, gather stories, and interview
community members.
Please call or email us at info@dondonhaiti.org and let us take you to Dondon on your next
mission trip to Haiti.
